TEST DRIVE
Mar. 8th, 2018 12:22 pmWelcome to the first Scenario: Your character has just arrived via the Return Point and taken the uneventful cart ride to a vast city known only to the locals as “the City”. You have no memories that go back 20 years (or less, up to you). You may have some strange new powers but those come with a rather nasty side effect, don't they? If you had a lot of powers, you'll either notice that they're gone altogether or that those nasty side effects are equivalent or worse than the power you're trying to use. Lucky for you it seems like the City is already populated. Unlucky for you, they don't exactly have the best handle on this situation either. Locations: City Streets You're fresh off the cart and just checked into the keep. Now you're free to wander the City and see what there is to see. Open Air Market You've checked in, sure but now you're still milling about the market. Feel free to see if anything you have will be an even trade. Tipping the Velvet Welcome to the brothel. We don't need to tell you what goes on here. Maybe you're looking for a job, maybe you're looking for a good time. Maybe you just want a good vodka drink. Keep threads R rated for the test drive, please. Once the game opens, smut threads can be posted, but need to be locked to community members only Fortunas Care to test your luck in the City's casino? Trade's pretty-much open to whatever the dealer wants. There's a full bar, a restaurant, and plenty of shiny things to distract you. Apartments Everyone lives in the Apartments. Feel free to settle in, find a nice-ish place and hopefully the doors lock. Re: Siebenkäs | Jealous of Roses
Date: 2018-03-09 03:19 am (UTC)Oh, she walks and she moves and she certainly does own someone's world that afternoon. Siebenkäs's mind skips; cuts out and comes down. He remembers, but then again, he absolutely doesn't, not in a way where he could cough up words to describe how or why or what.
There is no one to match this person in his memories, just here and just right then. And there's something weirdly freeing about the change of pace. He puts the flier he's been working through aside and smooths it against the tabletop. "Ah, yes," he manages and shoves the second chair out from under the table with the toes of his boot.

Date: 2018-03-09 03:27 am (UTC)"I was curious," she starts, reaching out and brushing the tip of her finger against his glass. "What's on the menu? Anything worth drinking or is it all swill?"
Her sister, Friday, would drink anything, she'd get drunk of cheap wine and cheaper hard stuff, but Saturday has always been a bit more discriminating.

Date: 2018-03-09 03:48 am (UTC)"They have chicory and some infused water-- lemongrass and berry, I think," he mentions. "The chicory isn't bad." Although, anyone with a sensitive enough nose can probably smell the rotgut vapors coming off of his cup. He considers taking a sip, but pauses with his hands around the chipped china.

Date: 2018-03-09 04:04 am (UTC)"You seem like you've got something on your mind." She tilts her head just a little, grin still etched on her face. "I'll trade you, if you're interested. A little tit for tat?"

Date: 2018-03-09 04:27 am (UTC)A soft swallow and he mostly recovers himself.
Mostly.
"I was trying to get caught up on my reading for work. It's not very engaging. So, I'm happy for a distraction. You?"
He chances a sip of the chicory.
Or what was possibly maybe chicory, but is now about 90 proof.

Date: 2018-03-09 11:56 am (UTC)Which is to say that while she may seem confident as hell, she's making this all up as she goes. Which works for her, really. He's not afraid of fucking up and this is something new which is always exciting for her.
Reaching forward, she touches the cup gain, her fingers wrapping around it but not actually taking it.
"I'm Saturday, by the way." She smiles. "And what do I get to call you?"

Date: 2018-03-09 03:09 pm (UTC)"Anyway, I go by Siebenkäs. Or Benny to enough people since apparently Siebenkäs is too long."

Date: 2018-03-09 04:42 pm (UTC)"Siebenkäs. I like it." Her fingers brush his knuckles, then she pulls away just long enough for her to wave a hand in the air. "Interesting wording there. Was the name you had before not worth your time?"

Date: 2018-03-09 05:06 pm (UTC)"It was customary to adopt other forms of address for work where I came from. I chose to keep using mine. It's from a book."
And this isn't the first time someone has asked about it, though Saturday hasn't been so blunt as Alpha, overly-interested as certain bar patrons, suspiscious as some of the faceless presences in his memories.

Date: 2018-03-09 05:14 pm (UTC)"Are you a big reader then, Siebenkäs?" She's feeling nosy about random things maybe but it helps her to figure out if she's going to tell him what she had once been. Or how, if she's honest. She has no issue talking about herself if the conversation permits and Saturday is hardly known for being shy.

Date: 2018-03-09 05:34 pm (UTC)(It's unnerving now how he knows her name and the watercolor sketch she used as a headshot on the jackets of her books, but he can't seems to place the names of anyone he read her with, though he knows he did this; though he knows these are some of the more tender moments of his life.)
"I'd rather read about things happening to imaginary people than wait around waiting for nothing to happen to me. It's much more interesting."
(OOC: and that author is name up, but the weird leftover canon of him being a fan seems to have stuck; apparently she's a surrealist.)

Date: 2018-03-11 04:06 am (UTC)She moves, getting to her feet and walking behind him, her arms draping over his shoulders as she leans down murmur into his ear.
"Tell me me about a story that's kept you going, hm?" Her mouth is close enough to his ear that her lips brush up against it as she speaks. "Tell me something interesting."
